Birds
In the large bay south of the lighthouse, Korshamn, you will find most of the resident birds such as common shelduck (Tadorna tadorna), oystercatcher (Haematopus ostralegus), lapwing (Vanellus vanellus), ringed plover (Charadrius hiaticula), redshank (Tringa totanus) and pied avocet (Recurvirostra avosetta). Do not walk too close to the beach and disturb the avocets during nesting. When it comes to migratory birds, large numbers of dunlin (Calidris alpina) can be spotted during spring and autumn. North of the lighthouse and at Glommen's harbor, the spectators usually stop at the autumn storms to see seabirds such as the sooty shearwater (Ardenna grisea), pomarine skua (Stercorarius pomarinus), little auk (Alle alle), Iceland gull (Larus glaucoides) etc.
A total of about 280 bird species have been noted.
